Cancer Act:
Newsflash! We are thrilled to learn that the Conquering Childhood Cancer Act of 2008 has PASSED in the House of Representatives!! This brings us all one step closer to enacting a law that will make a critical difference to children with cancer. More than 20,000 people sent letters urging their congressional leaders to support the bill. Now's the time to keep it up! If you are an American resident, you can send a free email to your local Senator, urging passage of the bill -- which is due on the Senate floor this summer. Please go here and click on S-911 to send a message to your local Senators. http://capwiz.com/curesearch/issues/bills The bill authorizes $30 million annually over five years, providing funding for collaborative pediatric cancer clinical trials research, to create a population-based national childhood cancer database, and to further improve public awareness and communication regarding available treatments and research for children with cancer and their families.
